Discuss three different uses of symbolism and imagery in the book, "Fahrenheit 451." Post a picture of this image with each description.

A use of imagery in the book Fahrenheit 451 is when Montag was talking about the mechanical hound and said The Mechanical Hound slept but did not sleep, lived but did not live in its gently humming, gently vibrating, softly illuminated kennel back in a dark corner of the firehouse.

A use of symbolism is when they use the pheonix in the book because the pheonix is a symbol of great importance.

A final use of symbolism in the book is the title Fahrenheit 451. It's title is the temperature at which paper burns.

Definition to Civil Liberties: The rights to freedom: The basic rights granted to a indivisual citizen by law.

http://www.bing.com/Dictionary/search?q=define+civil+liberties&qpvt=Defintition+of+civil+liberties&FORM=DTPDIA

Civil Liberties are when the rules are to harsh for no reason such as a curfew for minors when nothing has happened. Such as if there was a 10 o clock curfew for a town when nothing bad has happened in the town due to underage minors. Or when the government starts taking rules too far, such as if a speed limit is 45 MPH and someone is going 46 MPH. I still understand that they are going over the speed limit but its by 1 MPH, they shouldn't give the person a ticket if they are paying attention to the road but if they aren't paying attention and they are goin 1 MPH over then they should pull them over for going over the speed limit but they should mainly get in trouble for not paying attention to the road.

civil liberties

Prior 9/11:

·        Rules not as strict.

·        Easy and faster getting in and out of airport.

·        Kitchen utensils not a big deal.

·        We didn’t have full body scanners.

·        Safer to fly.

Post 9/11:

·        There’s a list that tells you what you can pack and what you can’t pack.

·        It takes forever to get through security.

·        Lots of delays because of security.
